Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied receiving any money in connection with an alleged $2.1 million Abuja land deal, telling an FCT High Court that the signature on a disputed document was forged.
Jordan, a lawyer, made the denial while testifying in the suit marked CV/008/2026 filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
The claimants allege that Jordan agreed to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape for $2.1 million but allegedly failed to provide the land or refund the money.
Testifying before Justice Silvanus Oriji, Jordan denied the allegations and said he did not know the claimants or have any business dealings with them.
“I did not receive any money from anybody. I did not sign any document for land deal. I only found out that my signature was on the land document just like anyone else in this court yesterday (Tuesday),” he said.
Jordan also denied knowing a person identified as Onor Sandy, whom he said was allegedly linked to the disputed transaction.
“I never had any friend named Onor Sandy and I did not have any deal with anyone regarding land deal,” he added.
The defendant told the court that he was in London on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants alleged the payment was made.
He produced a photocopy of his American passport in court and pointed out that the passport number contained in the disputed document had expired in 2022.
A police investigation report attached to Jordan’s filings reportedly stated that the claimant had not provided sufficient evidence of the alleged payment.
The report also recommended prosecution over alleged defamation, false information and attempted extortion. The claimants, however, maintain their allegations against Jordan.
The case was subsequently adjourned by Justice Oriji to December 1, 2 and 14, 2026, for continuation of trial.
